Beginning of the Wet-Season

We had plenty of rain yesterday, bucket loads, so Steven Nowakowski Panoscapes & I went on a photographic mission search of frogs and other creatures. In between the down pours we managed to find some interesting animals, mainly katydids & a few frogs. Shooting macro while holding an umbrella, camera and flash can be a bit challenging at times, but occasionally its worth it. Spent most of our time at Crystal Cascades & then stoney creek. Looking forward to more trips like this. Let the wet-season fun and games begin. Croak.

Testing New Flash (macro shots)

This started out like a normal night trip with photography friend Steven Nowakowski & I walking up a rainforest creek in search of frogs and other creatures. I was on a mission to test a new flash I had & also experiment with the new bracket arms mounted under my camera. Everything was going well until one of the flashes stopped working consistently. I also had a rather hard fall onto a granite boulder damaging my knee and also wacking the flash so hard it has not worked since. Anyway, here are a few shots from that excursion in the wet tropics of far north Queensland.

Frogs, butterflies and Spiders

I have been focussing on a few other things lately and become a bit slack with posting new images. Here are a few shots taken from a  small rainforest creek in the area and around the backyard.
